WILLARD “BILL” JOHNSON

Outside of Korfball
Bill was a three-year letterwinner in basketball at Kamiak High School in Mukilteo, WA where he was a captain with korfball teammate Sean Hermes and helped lead the team to their first conference championship in school history. Bill would go on to play at MIT where he was a 1,000+ pointer scorer and again as a captain helped lead the school to it’s first ever conference championship in history. After graduation he played semi-professionally in Costa Rica, Iceland, Cape Verde, and Australia, spent several years as an assistant coach at MIT, and was co-director of Norlha Basketball on the Tibetan Plateau. He also competed with the US Beach Handball men’s team, earning several Continental Championships and advancing to the semifinals at the ’22 World Games in Birmingham, AL. Bill resides in Bellingham, WA with his partner Juliana and dog Louie, and currently works as a Financial Analyst at the University of Washington.
